PlatEM Advanced Platform is  a multipurpose utility development platform that allows quick prototyping of a variety applications, starting from getting started with the Kit to Internet of Things applications. PlatEM Advanced Platform lets Software Developers and System Integrators Innovate, Test, Deploy and to execute Quick POCs for numerous applications.

The PlatEM Advanced Platform provides a stable and affordable platform to quickly start using the Sitara™ Processor (AM335x) and accelerate development for smart appliance, industrial and networking applications. It is based on the ARM Cortex-A8 processor that is integrated with options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DDR3 and TFT display with captivative touch screen. Further, this board also has all the necessary hardware interfaces and pre-loaded Real Time Linux Operating System that allows you to design, develop, integrate and test your applications

User LEDs

The Four User LEDs implemented are D1-D4 in the user panel area. These are driven by the GPIOs from the AM335x. All of the user LEDs are green in color.

User Keys

This design has four user keys (SW1, SW2, SW3 and SW4): three of them connect directly to the GPIO bank2 of the processor (Keys 2,3 and 4) and one of them (Key 1) connects to the GPIO bank0 of the processor.


The accelerometer is mounted closer to the center of the board as to allow the mostuseful/dynamic data. The accelerometer is connected via I2C0 of the processor.

Board Expansion Connectors

The SPI0 and the I2C0 ports are extended through the connectors J11 and J8, respectively.


The 4DCAPE-70T utilises the drivers developed for the CircuitCo LCD7 A3, however it provides a different form factor and pricing point to the LCD7.
